Customer Demand

Counterweights are key parts of drum washing machines, which give the body of a washing machine more inertia and reduce its jitter amplitude, helping keep the washing machine stable during operation. There is a great demand for counterweights handling from household electrical appliance manufacturers. Counterweights are various and heavy, and the traditional manual assembly is often characterized by assembly errors, low efficiency and high cost.

So the client expects robots to pick tightly-piled dark counterweights of multiple sizes. However, counterweights are tightly piled in small space and mostly have dark surfaces, and traditional robotic automation solutions do not have the singularity detection feature, so dark counterweights cannot be well recognized and accurately picked.

Vision-Guided Assembly of Drum Washing Machine Counterweights

1. High-precision and anti-reflection Mech-Eye Laser L Smart Camera can be applied to quickly recognize randomly-piled dark counterweights with complex surface structures. The Laser L Camera has a large field of view that allows to pick objects from the big bin or the pallet. Industrial 3D camera with high protection level can adapt to harsh environment such as dust and vibration. It has passed the endurance test of more than 7000 hours and proved to be stable and reliable.
